Fundamentals of Clay
Beginner & Up
Spring 2025: Session 3
April 28th - June 21st
CLASS DESCRIPTION
Students will explore the fundamentals of hand-building with clay by creating project-focused pottery at a table. Some examples of projects are mugs, vases, bowls and trays. Techniques such as slab, pinch & coil will be used to create both functional & decorative wares. Students will work together as a group creating a new project weekly or bi-weekly while also having time to explore on their own. If students have specific ideas, they are encouraged to share them and we will work together to bring them to life. Hand-building templates, stamps and molds are available for the learning and creating process. Students with hand-building experience are welcome to work more independently but are encouraged to partake in the group lessons and demonstrations. If pottery wheels are available, hand-building students are welcome to try them out if time allows. All supplies included. Please read additional class info HERE regarding class structure, make-ups and open studio time.
